About Papi2Real

Pierre ShonPatrick Colbert was born January 31st, 1980 to Vanessa and Patrick Colbert in Foxhills, Los Angeles, California. By the age of five, he moved to Houston, Texas. He was there from the Southwest of Houston to SouthPark and spent most summers in Los Angeles. 

During his Elementary School years, Pierre was the only Black child in school. He was placed in the Magnet Program for his advanced intelligence.

During Middle School, Pierre played Sports like Football, Baseball, Golf and Tennis. He was still enrolled in the Magnet Program during this time as well. 

In his High School years, Pierre was inducted into the Gents Fraternity, became a member of the Thespian Society, joined the French Club, continued to play Football and Baseball, and was elected as Senior Class Vice-President and Homecoming King.

After a successful and accomplished Academic Career in school, Pierre decided to offer his talents to the United States and proudly joined the U.S. Navy, as his Father had done and served in Vietnam.

In 1999, Pierre enlisted in the Military and went through the IQ Testing Process, where he scored a 97 on the ASVAB Test, which is given to all enlistees of the U.S. Military Branches. 

He also passed the required Physical Exam. After Basic Training in Great Lakes, Illinois for 12 weeks, Pierre entered into the new class of Information Systems Technology.

After receiving this highly-specialized training, Pierre was assigned to the U.S.S. Benfold DDG-65 World Class Destroyer in San Diego, California on the 32nd U.S. Naval Base.

Pierre toured the Western Pacific, which includes Hawaii, Australia, Jebel Ali - Dubai, Bahrain - Middle East, Hong Kong and Phuket - Thailand. Traveling to these foreign places developed his love of all Cultures, like the accents, the food, the aromas, the clothes, the people and definitely the women.

The "Call Sign" Papi2Real came to life during a trip to Chicago, where Pierre was visiting with his then-girlfriend and two other couples. Pierre's girlfriend was of Puerto Rican descent and always referred to him as Papi. 

While in Chicago, Pierre was engaging an audience with his ability to carry a subject and enthrall a crowd.

As Pierre is regaling this impromptu audience, his girlfriend yells over, "Papi, let's go!" 

Simultaneously, someone yelled out from the rear of the large crowd, "That's too real!" Pierre instantly heard Papi2Real and his journey began.
